Are You in the Know!
One aspect of our daily lives as we mature is realizing how events in our community, our country, and around the world affect our everyday lives. Lately, it seems that members of your community are asking what is happening in our city and our country. As a freelance reporter, you have decided to create a community website detailing news events from your local community to that from around the world.
First you will create three separate web pages. Save each page as page1.txt, page2.txt, and page3.txt. Also, don’t forget to save them as html files as well.
I will show you how to link your pages on Wednesday, November 4th.
Your news informational website must consist of the following pages:
Education Page – Current events at your school such as the recent football season, upcoming festival events, sporting events, student council news, graduation, etc.
Local News – 4 articles of current news in your community and city with pictures
National News – 3 articles of current events. Need details, not just headlines. You can report on the national unemployment problem; is it getting better or worse. How about the budget crisis in Washington D.C.; the war in Afghanistan.
Articles must be in your own words. You can copy and past the headlines, but your article must be your words. Remember, using someone else’s words is considered plagiarism! Each page must have pictures relative to the news article.
